1. It’s Old
If your hot tub is only five to 10 years old and is in need of repair, it’s likely worth fixing. A good hot tub should last 15 years or more and repairs are always cheaper than buying new. If, however, your hot tub has been around for 15 years or more, repairs are rarely worth it.

And, the longer the leak occurs, the more saturated the spa’s insulation becomes. If your technician can’t give you an exact quote, or he says all of the spray foam insulation needs to be replaced, you can expect a hefty repair bill. When that’s the case, it’s usually better to start over with a new spa.
